PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) is responsible for delivering professional grooming services and supporting a high-performing team while upholding PetSmart’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. The role includes developing bathers and new stylists through the grooming development program.

The position emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and maintaining quality care for pets, with duties spanning salon operations, customer engagement, and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience.
• Full-time availability; evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Proficiency with grooming tools, equipment and products.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational and safety-focused habits.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development, including training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching and performance feedback.
• Develops associates through bather/stylist certification and academy attendance.
• Identify internal candidates for stylist academies.
• Delegate and verify salon daily tasks; manage schedule adherence.
• Address and resolve associate grievances and escalations.
• Drive pet parent engagement and salon sales; ensure high service quality.
