Job summary

PetSmart’s Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) is responsible for delivering professional grooming services and developing bathers and new stylists within a values-based culture. This role focuses on high-quality pet care and team development, guiding associates through the grooming development program.

The position requires grooming expertise, a full-time schedule including evenings and weekends, and strong communication and safety skills to ensure excellent pet parent experiences

Qualifications

• 2+ years grooming experience; may be asked to complete a technical exam.
• Full time availability; flexibility in schedule, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency with use of tools, equipment and products to perform technical work safely.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates and supports associate development through training, onboarding, mentoring and coaching.
• Develops new and existing associates through bather and stylist certification processes.
• Identifies candidates for academy training to become stylists.
• Delegates and validates completion of daily salon tasks.
• Addresses and administers associate complaints and grievances.
• Recognizes and celebrates associates driving engagement.
• Grooms pets and performs related salon services per PetSmart standards.
• Promotes salon sales and drives productivity and store metrics.
• Maintains cleanliness, sanitation and humane pet handling in grooming areas.
