Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and lead in the absence of management. You will assist customers, operate the register, stock merchandise, and support planogram execution to maximize profitability and satisfaction.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities spanning cashier duties, merchandising, and store operations under the Store Manager’s direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Proficiency in cash handling and cashier accountability procedures.
• Experience operating a cash register and scanner; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, and bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves, and build displays.
• Keep the store clean and organized; manage trash, dust, and floors.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager guidance.
• Perform duties in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
