The Sales Lead will drive new business acquisition by leveraging established relationships with brand CMOs and senior marketing executives, while also nurturing existing client partnerships across the SpecialGuestFamily ecosystem. This role will implement growth strategies developed by leadership, convert identified opportunities into new business, and build direct brand relationships (not agency relationships). The ideal candidate will bring a strong rolodex of brand-direct connections, a track record of accessing decision-makers, and the ability to open doors for the pitch team. Working in close partnership with creative teams, this role will help drive revenue growth through authentic relationship building and honest, transparent client conversations. Candidates should have a genuine passion for both sales and creative work, with the ability to connect client needs to our capabilities.

Core Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Convert pre-identified "low-hanging fruit" opportunities into new client relationships
  • Support leadership in pursuing targeted new business opportunities
  • Welcome and transition any existing client relationships you may bring to the organization
  • Partner with pitch teams to create compelling presentations
  • Follow up diligently on all leads and opportunities

Existing Client Growth

  • Partner with account teams to identify expansion opportunities within current client relationships
  • Develop strategies to increase share of wallet with existing clients
  • Maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders to uncover additional needs
  • Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to develop compelling solutions for existing clients
  • Maintain client relationships from a business development perspective through regular check-ins, focusing on future opportunities
  • Work across all arms of the business, partnering effectively with department heads to understand capabilities and offerings
  • Collaborate with growth strategy leadership to ensure aligned approach to business development
  • Support broader team efforts to maintain strong industry presence and reputation
  • Share market intelligence and client insights with relevant teams

Reporting & Communication

  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast information
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on business development activities
  • Track and report on key performance indicators and conversion metrics
  • Communicate client needs effectively to internal teams

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in advertising, marketing, or related fields
  • Proven track record of growing existing client relationships and converting new business
  • Experience in advertising or brand partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with creative teams
  • Success in collaborative sales environments
  • Strong understanding of innovation, strategic creative, and design
  • Passion for and knowledge of emerging technologies
  • Dedicated to staying current with industry trends and technological advancements such as AI

  • Background in creative agencies or production companies
  • Knowledge of multiple industry verticals
  • Location: Based in US (New York or Los Angeles preferred) with flexibility for remote work
  • Travel: As needed for client meetings and team collaboration
  • Reports to: Business Development Leadership
  • Team: Works closely with creative, strategy, and production teams across all business units

Compensation

  • Base Salary Range: Base salary will be commensurate based on experience, responsibilities, and alignment with business needs
  • Bonus Structure: Highly competitive, uncapped bonus structure with no earnings cap
