Job summary

Engtal seeks a Sales Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to develop and manage complex equipment proposals for simulation and test systems across defense, aerospace, automotive, and consumer product labs. The role requires translating complex technical requirements into customer solutions and building long-term relationships with clients and partners.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in capital equipment sales, strong technical and communication skills, and willingness to travel ~25%.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of capital equipment sales experience.
• Strong technical, communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%.
• Experience with rotating equipment, servo systems, or motion control is a plus.
• Defense or government customers experience is a plus.
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual sales and bookings targets.
• Develop relationships with customers to drive equipment and turnkey solutions.
• Review customer requirements and recommend technical solutions.
• Develop technical proposals, specifications, and pricing with engineering and operations teams.
• Develop and execute territory growth strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Attend trade shows, conferences, networking events, and customer meetings to generate new business.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop pricing recommendations and commercial proposals for complex systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to support customer success.
• Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales records.
• Travel approximately 25% to support customers, trade shows, and business development activities.
