Job summary

1rti is seeking a Data Center Solutions Sales Engineer to support account managers and strategic sales initiatives in data center infrastructure, storage, virtualization, hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, AI infrastructure, and data protection.

You will design solutions, provide technical consultation, deliver demonstrations and POCs, and develop proposals to align technology investments with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5+ years in IT Infrastructure roles.
• 3+ years pre-sales engineering or technical consulting.
• Ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Must have a valid driver's license and pass background checks.
• Ability to move equipment up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Conducting customer discovery meetings to understand business requirements and objectives.
• Developing solution architectures and recommendations aligned with customer needs and RTI best practices.
• Creating technical designs, BOMs, scopes of work, and supporting documentation.
• Delivering executive presentations, demonstrations, POCs, and technical briefings.
• Translating technical capabilities into business-focused outcomes and value propositions.
• Assisting with proposals, RFP responses, and technical recommendations.
• Supporting pricing discussions with technically accurate proposals.
• Providing strategic guidance on infrastructure modernization, storage optimization, and hybrid cloud.
• Supporting architecture development for virtualization environments, backup/disaster recovery, AI infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Building trusted advisor relationships with IT leadership and executives.
• Maintaining current technical certifications.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
