Job description

BlueChips is hiring an elite early-career Sales Engineer to work directly with VP of sales and COO on the execution of GTM plan.

This is not a conventional solutions-engineering role. We are looking for someone who can understand difficult technical systems quickly, explain them with exceptional clarity, and turn technical credibility into commercial momentum.

The ideal candidate is 1–3 years out of a top engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science program and has already demonstrated that they can sell. Experience at a company such as Palantir, Ansys, Anduril, Scale AI, SpaceX, Databricks, or a technically demanding industrial software company is especially relevant.

You should be equally comfortable at a whiteboard with an engineer and across a table from an executive buyer.

What you’ll do
  • Manage the technical side of $1M–$5M enterprise deals from first meeting through close, working directly with senior engineering and executive buyers
  • Operate with meaningful exposure to senior leadership, including the VP of Sales, Principal Scientists, and COO himself
  • Run demos, technical evaluations, pilots, and customer workshops
  • Translate CFD, simulation, meshing, numerical methods, and physical AI into clear business value
  • Work directly with engineering organizations in aerospace, defense, energy, and advanced manufacturing
  • Identify what is actually preventing a customer from buying and remove it
  • Help shape product direction from what you learn in the field
  • Eventually recruit and help build the sales engineering organization around you
What we care about

You are technically formidable but do not hide behind technical language.

You communicate with precision, confidence, and economy.

You can explain highly technical concepts to non-technical people

You enjoy selling. You like asking for the meeting, pushing a process forward, handling objections, and closing.

You can walk into a room of senior engineers, establish credibility quickly, and still explain the same technology to a CFO ten minutes later.

You are competitive, highly organized, socially perceptive, and comfortable operating without a script.

Pedigree can get our attention. Performance matters much more.

Strong signals
  • Engineering, applied mathematics, physics, CS, or a closely related quantitative degree
  • MIT, Stanford, Caltech, Princeton, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, or similarly rigorous technical training
  • 1–3 years in technical sales, forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or enterprise software
  • Evidence of exceptional performance rather than simply participation
  • Experience selling into aerospace, defense, energy, automotive, simulation, CAE, or industrial engineering
  • A record of taking complicated products and making customers want them

This role has significant exposure to the founder and to major customers. For the right person, it is a fast path toward owning a substantial part of the commercial organization.
