About Cyngn

Based in Menlo Park, CA, Cyngn is a publicly-traded autonomous vehicle company. Whether at a warehouse floor, mine, or construction site, our self-driving technology can be deployed at a variety of commercial domains, across a variety of vehicle form-factors. To build this emergent technology, we are looking for innovative, motivated, and experienced leaders to join our team and move this field forward. If you like to build, tinker, and create with a team of trusted and passionate colleagues, then Cyngn is the place for you. Key reasons to join Cyngn:

We are Small and Big.

With under 100 employees, Cyngn is still a company that operates with the energy of a startup. On the other hand, we are publicly traded. Combined, our employees not only work in close-knit teams with close mentorship from company leaders, they also get access to the liquidity of our publicly-traded equity. This gives our small team the opportunity to make a big impact in industries that other people aren’t touching — without taking on the risks associated with untested organizations.

We Build Today and Deploy Tomorrow.

Our employees aren’t just researchers but are creating reality. In other words, the autonomous vehicles we’re building are designed to go to real clients right away. We are driven by our passion for innovation and the ability to see the entire product and the real impact of our work out in the real world. At Cyngn, the distance between the theoretical and the actual is razor-thin.

We aren’t robots. We just build them.

Go read our glassdoor reviews and you’ll find that one of the best things about working here is the people. We are an inclusive, diverse team of top talent with exceptional synergy. We thrive on open collaboration and a trusting and creative work environment that is fueled by our passion for the industry. At Cyngn, everyone’s voice is valued and each of our unique perspectives is celebrated. It’s the people that allow our company to continue to grow bigger and better every day.

About This Role

Cyngn’s customer operations team works cross-functionally with account executives, product managers, engineers, and executives to scope and execute new deployments for our DriveMod autonomous vehicle solutions. We are looking for entrepreneurial people who value moving quickly while shaping strategy and creating fruitful customer and partner relationships to drive repeatable revenues.

As a Sales Engineer you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing customer engagement strategy. You will both be on the front lines at our customer sites deploying our technology as well as an internal lynchpin connecting Sales, Business Development, Product, and Engineering to achieve Cyngn’s business objectives. Your role will encompass a blend of pre-sales support, operational excellence, and customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Deployment Planning: Manage & support pre-sales solution engineering, including customer validation, application design, deployment planning, and KPI identification
  • Deployment Operations: Manage & support post-sales customer operations, including training, deployment launch, and execution to KPIs
  • Internal Operational Support: Work closely with internal teams to continuously improve the Cyngn deployment process and ensure seamless alignment between our sales strategies and product capabilities
  • Program Support: Collaborate with program management team to plan vehicle and employee resources for future deployments
  • Customer Success: Manage customer relationships post-sale, ensuring our product capabilities and safety specifications are reflected in customer operations
  • Voice of the Customer: Act as a liaison between our clients and our Product and Engineering teams, providing crucial feedback to enhance our products and strategies.
  • Sales / Validation: Assist sales when needed as a subject matter expert in Cyngn technology to validate prospective customers, deep dive into Cyngn product offerings, and discuss EAS integration into customer workflow
  • Continuous Improvement: Improve internal sales, deployment, and product processes. Looking for ways to streamline and incorporate industrial engineering lean principles into all aspects of the job
  • Travel: Between 20-40% travel required

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in sales, operations, or program management, preferably in the warehouse automation, manufacturing, or logistics sectors
  • Previous work with AGVs, AMRs, or other autonomous mobile equipment is a huge plus
  • Previous work experience interacting with various forms of warehouse automation is a huge plus
  • Strong skills in communication, organization, presentation, and project management.
  • Familiarity with CRM software, Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Canva, Google Slides).
  • Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time to customer sites for sales visits as well as customer installations
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with the ability to be flexible with responsibilities and wear many hats
  • Desire to learn, be curious, and creative with customers needs and possible solutions
  • Ability to produce results that rely on cross-functional teams like sales, business development, product management, engineering, and customer success

Benefits & Perks

  • Health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA and FSA (Health & Dependent Daycare), Employee Assistance Program, 1:1 Health Concierge)
