Job summary

NerdWallet is hiring a Sales Trainer to develop sales professionals within the Small Business Sales team. The role embeds with the sales team to coach live conversations, analyze performance, and translate coaching into measurable business impact.

You will lead onboarding, deliver ongoing coaching, and reinforce Challenger-based and consultative selling across the customer journey, partnering with Sales Leadership, BD, Product, and Operations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in sales training or sales coaching in a quota-driven environment.
• Experience onboarding new sales representatives and ramping productivity.
• Coaching through live observation, call reviews, role plays, and feedback.
• Understanding Challenger, consultative, and transactional sales methodologies.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to deliver direct, actionable coaching while building credibility.
• Experience using Gong, Salesforce, LMS platforms or similar tools.
• Willingness to travel ~twice per quarter for in-person onboarding and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding programs to prepare Account Executives for customer conversations and ramp.
• Deliver ongoing coaching through live call observations, reviews, role plays, and strategy sessions.
• Maintain presence on the sales floor to identify coaching opportunities and provide actionable feedback.
• Reinforce Challenger-based and consultative selling throughout the customer journey.
• Coach on discovery, objections, urgency, lender positioning, financing education, ROI, follow-up, and closing.
• Become SME on small business financing, alternative lending, and deal positioning.
• Partner with Sales Leadership, BD, Product, and Operations to align onboarding with business priorities.
• Analyze coaching data to identify skill gaps and design targeted plans.
• Create and improve enablement materials: playbooks, talk tracks, call examples, scenarios, job aids.
• Support frontline managers by reinforcing best practices and consistency.
