Job summary

Smart Building Technologies Controls in Owings Mills, MD seeks a results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales team, strengthen customer relationships, and drive profitable growth across our BAS business.

The role will oversee sales across the DMV region while expanding into Florida, initially pursuing new business and developing key accounts, then focusing on scaling the sales organization for long-term growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience in Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or Smart Building Technology.
• At least 2+ years in a sales leadership or executive-level business development role.
• Proven track record of driving sales growth, developing customer relationships, and leading sales teams.
• Experience managing an established sales territory and executing market expansion strategies.
• Strong coaching, leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience using CRM systems to manage sales pipelines, forecasting, and performance.
• Willingness to travel between Owings Mills HQ and the Florida market as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Sales Team: Coach and develop team members, establish performance expectations, and strengthen business development, negotiation, account management, and closing skills.
• Drive business development: Identify new opportunities, develop strategic accounts, and build relationships with contractors, engineers, developers, owners, healthcare systems, and facility managers.
• Expand market presence: Develop and execute sales strategies for the DMV region and lead expansion efforts in Florida.
• Grow service revenue: Partner with service and operations leadership to expand service agreements and recurring revenue.
• Manage sales performance: Set targets, monitor pipeline, forecast revenue, and implement action plans.
• Strengthen customer relationships: Lead meetings, presentations, negotiations, and major pursuits while expanding existing accounts.
