As a Sales Associate, you will have an exciting opportunity to grow your sales career with the industry leader. You will support the business plan through profitable revenue generation, gaining valuable hands-on training and real-world experience in the field. This position can be located anywhere within one of our 1200+ locations across North America. It involves working in conjunction with local branches and independently. Sales Development Program - What We Do:
  • Improve time to productivity with automated learning paths and certification on execution and retention
  • Provide structured coaching through weekly 1:1 sessions for reps and managers
  • Enhance skills with video role plays, simulated sales scenarios, and field ride-alongs
  • Distribute bite-sized content via microlearning, including videos, quizzes, and challenges
How We Do It:
  • Use analytics for real-time visibility, achievement tracking, and identifying knowledge gaps
  • Engage teams with gamification elements like leaderboards and badges
  • Provide access to sales tools through internal and customer-facing programs
  • Leverage artificial intelligence for descriptive and predictive insights to maximize engagement and proficiency
Your Responsibilities:
  • Qualify and assess customer needs using CRM (SalesForce.com) and persuasive selling techniques
  • Gather primary decision maker contact information for sales and marketing campaigns
  • Identify and sell to new customers using marketing and sales tools
  • Recover dormant customers and support branch operations
  • Learn to use United Rentals' IT systems for quotes, rentals, sales, and reservations
  • Coordinate with branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and communicate field issues
  • Work with Inside Sales Reps to provide solutions involving equipment needs, training, and quotations
  • Negotiate prices in accordance with company policies
  • Drive customer engagement through local events and promotions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: One year of sales-related experience
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with at least one year of experience
  • Effective presentation skills and sales orientation
  • Strong teamwork and organizational abilities
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Willingness and ability to relocate
