As a Sales Associate, you will have an exciting opportunity to grow your sales career with the industry leader. You will support the business plan through profitable revenue generation. This position can be located anywhere in one of our 1200+ locations across North America. It involves working in conjunction with local branches near you and working independently. Sales Development Program - What We Do:
  1. Sales Performance: improve time to productivity with automated learning paths and certification on execution and retention.
  2. Coaching: provide a structured coaching environment where reps & managers conduct weekly 1:1 coaching.
  3. Skills Development: gain confidence to handle any situation with video role plays, simulated sales scenarios, and field ride-alongs.
  4. Micro Learning: distribute bite-sized content with engaging videos, quizzes & challenges.
How We Do it:
  1. Analytics: provide real-time visibility to achievements, measure capabilities and knowledge gaps.
  2. Gamification: engage and motivate teams with leaderboards & badges.
  3. Sales Tools: access content through internal & customer-facing programs.
  4. Artificial Intelligence: leverage descriptive & predictive intelligence to maximize engagement and proficiency.
What you'll do:
  1. Qualify and quantify the needs of our existing customer base using CRM (Salesforce.com) and persuasive selling techniques.
  2. Validate and collect primary decision maker's contact information and customer needs for future sales and marketing campaigns.
  3. Leverage marketing & sales tools to identify and sell to new customers.
  4. Recover declining & dormant customers via our sales tools and comprehensive United Rentals value proposition.
  5. Support and learn about branch operations.
  6. Learn accurate use of United Rentals' IT systems for quotes, rentals, sales, reservations, and territory management.
  7. Coordinate with all branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and communicate field issues to branch personnel.
  8. Work with ISR's to provide solutions around equipment needs assessment, training, demonstrations, quotations, catalogs, credit applications.
  9. Negotiate prices on equipment rentals and sales in accordance with pricing policies and procedures.
  10. Drive customer engagement to local events/promotions.
  11. Perform duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. One year experience in a sales-related role preferred.
  3. Proven planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  4. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  5. Proficient computer skills with at least 1 year experience using Microsoft Office.
  6. Strong presentation skills and effective sales orientation.
  7. Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
  8. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  9. Willing and able to relocate.
