As a Sales Associate, you will have an exciting opportunity to grow your sales career with the industry leader. You will support the business plan through profitable revenue generation, gaining valuable hands-on training and real-world experience in the field, selling to actual customers, and impacting the company’s bottom line, thereby increasing your skills and confidence!

Location: Can be anywhere in one of our 1200+ locations across North America. This position works in conjunction with local branches and independently. Sales Development Program - What We Do:
  1. Sales Performance: Improve time to productivity with automated learning paths and certification on execution and retention.

  2. Coaching: Provide a structured environment for weekly 1:1 coaching between reps and managers.

  3. Skills Development: Gain confidence to handle various situations through video role plays, simulated sales scenarios, and field ride-alongs.

  4. Micro Learning: Distribute bite-sized content with engaging videos, quizzes, and challenges.

How We Do It:
  1. Analytics: Provide real-time visibility into achievements, capabilities, and knowledge gaps.

  2. Gamification: Engage and motivate teams with leaderboards and badges.

  3. Sales Tools: Access content through internal and customer-facing programs.

  4. Artificial Intelligence: Leverage descriptive and predictive intelligence to maximize engagement and proficiency.

What You'll Do:
  • Qualify and assess the needs of existing customers using our CRM, SalesForce.com, and persuasive selling techniques.

  • Validate and collect primary decision makers' contact information and customer needs for future campaigns.

  • Leverage marketing and sales tools to identify and acquire new customers.

  • Recover declining and dormant customers using our sales tools and value proposition.

  • Support and learn about branch operations.

  • Use United Rentals' IT systems for quotes, rentals, sales, reservations, and territory management accurately.

  • Coordinate with branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and communicate field issues.

  • Work with ISR's to provide solutions around equipment needs, training, demonstrations, quotations, catalogs, and credit applications.

  • Negotiate rental and sales prices according to policies.

  • Drive customer engagement through local events and promotions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • One year of sales-related experience preferred.

  • Proven planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, with at least 1 year of experience.

  • Strong presentation skills and sales orientation.

  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Willingness and ability to relocate.
