Job summary

SCHMIDT Technology is seeking a self-motivated technical sales support specialist to assist customers with inquiries, test applications, and evaluate solutions. You will help select products and develop custom solutions while building lasting relationships with diverse industries, from aerospace to medical devices.

Travel up to 20% year-round, collaborate with engineering and sales teams, prepare proposals, and follow up to close opportunities.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn, with interest in manufacturing automation.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with PLC-based controls, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with CAD software is preferred.
• Proficiency with standard office software packages.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% annually.

SCHMIDT Technology is seeking a self-motivated individual to provide technical sales support for customer inquiries. Key responsibilities include maintaining customer relationships through various communication channels, including in-person visits; conducting application testing and evaluation; assisting with product selection; developing solutions; preparing proposals; and conducting follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Willingness and aptitude to learn new skills; ideally, experience in the manufacturing industry (automation industry is a plus)
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• General understanding of PLC-based controls, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including reading and interpreting schematics.
• Ideally, experience with conventional toolroom equipment, i.e., calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, including manual lathes, mills, surface-grinding equipment
• Experience with standard office software packages, e.g., Microsoft products.
• Ideally, experience with CAD software
• History of self-motivation, organization, problem-solving, and multi-tasking.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Team player with a friendly, can-do demeanor
• Ready to travel up to 20% annually
