Job summary

Genuine Search Group is seeking an Application Engineer to join its automation and robotics integration team. You will work with customers, sales, and engineering to define requirements, develop concepts, and prepare technical proposals.

The role emphasizes SolidWorks-driven design, cost estimates, and technical responses to RFQs/RFPs, with collaboration across mechanical, controls, and robotics disciplines. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks for mechanical design and concept development.
• Experience preparing technical proposals, quotations, and responses to customer RFPs and RFQs.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Willingness to travel periodically to customer facilities.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to understand manufacturing processes, production challenges, and automation requirements.
• Develop automation concepts and robotic system solutions that meet customer objectives.
• Create 3D layouts, concept models, and preliminary equipment designs using SolidWorks.
• Prepare detailed technical quotations, cost estimates, and commercial proposals.
• Review customer RFPs and RFQs, developing comprehensive technical responses that align with project requirements.
• Define project scope, assumptions, timelines, and technical specifications for proposed solutions.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, project risks, and manufacturing considerations during the proposal stage.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, robotics, and project engineering teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to project execution.
• Provide technical support during customer presentations, proposal reviews, and project kickoff meetings.
• Maintain proposal documentation, estimating tools, and engineering standards.
• Stay current on advancements in industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing technologies, and industry best practices.

This individual will play a key role in developing innovative automation solutions by working closely with customers, sales, and engineering teams to define project requirements, develop system concepts, and prepare technical proposals.

• Understanding of industrial safety standards and machine guarding requirements.
• Experience developing project cost estimates and performing value engineering.
