Job summary

Kistler Instrument Corporation in Simpsonville, SC is seeking a Sales and Application Engineer for plastics vision inspection to grow our Southeast market remotely.

You will respond to technical and pricing inquiries, develop sales strategies with the Sales Manager, identify OEMs, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver customized solutions.

This role requires up to 50% travel, collaboration across engineering and service, and a focus on customer success.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering or related field preferred with 2-3 years plastics sales or process engineering experience.
• Associate degree plus 3 years plastics sales engineer or process technician experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical, price, delivery, and service inquiries.
• Advise on application of plastics vision inspection products.
• Develop and implement a sales strategy with the Sales Manager.
• Identify OEMs and plastics processors and coordinate strategy with Sales Manager.
• Identify market requirements and consult with experts on special solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of new products and applications.
• Assist in preparing project proposals.
• Coordinate commitments with internal departments.

Purpose of the Position

The Purpose of the Sales & Application Engineer- Plastics, Southeast. It is to achieve sales goals of the company’s Plastics and vision inspection products in the Southeast.

(Texas, Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama)

Main Tasks

• Respond to requests for technical, price, delivery, and service information
• Provide advice on the appropriate application of plastics vision inspection related products
• Develop and implement a sales strategy in conjunction with the Sales Manager
• Identifies and penetrates OEM and plastics processing companies and coordinate strategy with the Sales Manager
• Identifies unique market requirements and consults with the Sales Manager and Application Experts on special solutions
• Maintain current knowledge of new and existing products and applications
• Assists in preparing special project proposals as required
• Coordinates commitments with affected internal departments

Requirements Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited four (4) year college preferred plus 2-3 years of experience in plastics sales or process engineer;
• Associate degree (A.A.S.) in Engineering Technology or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or vocational-technical school plus 3 years of experience as plastics sales engineer or process technician
• Experience in the application of pressure sensors, associated electronics, and software.
• Controls of plastics processing equipment to measure evaluate and control machine function to achieve process optimization.
• Requires engineering design knowledge, tool design is a plus.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, knowledge, and use of Microsoft office products
• Up to 50% of travel
