We are looking for a motivated and experienced Sales Account Manager to join our Pharma Ingredients team!

You will be responsible for building long-term, value-based relationships with accounts; expanding them for further business and improving the margins they generate while reducing management time and costs.

What you'll do

  1. Improve Univar’s position within each account using consultative and in-depth selling at all levels within the account.
  2. Prospect for new business by conducting sales calls to actively grow the territory.
  3. Focus on customer retention and overall satisfaction.
  4. Provide technical support and consulting services to increase our value to the customer.
  5. Maintain an updated view of your sales pipeline.
  6. Set pricing and service levels, and coordinate customer quotations or provide necessary information to local branches.
  7. Coordinate with Local Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure proper inventory levels.
  8. Demonstrate commitment to safety, both personal and for colleagues.

What you'll need

  1. Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in the Pharma Ingredients industry.
  2. Sales experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or chemical sales is preferred.
  3. Bachelor’s degree (Technical Science, Chemistry preferred but not required).
  4. Ability to nurture an extensive network of contacts.
  5. Demonstrated competitive drive.
  6. Strong business acumen, including understanding relationships between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users.
  7. Excellent listening skills and a problem-solving mindset.
  8. Effective negotiation skills to realize appropriate value for products and services.
  9. Ability to travel within the territory.

Where you'll work

This is a home-based opportunity. The covered territory includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Preference for candidates in the Houston, TX or Dallas, TX area.
