Ketjen Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle Corporation, is seeking a Sales Account Manager. The vacancy is based at our office in Clear Lake, Texas, but remote location will be considered within the geographical footprint of major US refining regions.

In this position, the Key Account Manager is the primary contact for Senior Leadership and technical, procurement, and key decision-makers within selected customer accounts. You will be responsible for setting the sales strategy, gaining internal support, and guiding a team of Account Managers to execute the strategy successfully. Building and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders based on routine interactions and trust is essential. You must possess the technical acumen to develop insights that support and challenge the customer's operation and catalyst buying behavior beneficial to both organizations. Collaboration with technical and commercial experts to resolve issues and meet customer requests aligned with account strategy and Ketjen's capabilities is crucial. Identifying inefficiencies and gaps that hinder business growth and guiding stakeholders toward continual improvement are also key responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take ownership as Ketjen's interface with the customer, performing and managing commercial activities to serve customer needs and develop credibility that leads to sales.
  • Guide internal teams to meet technical and commercial requests and provide feedback on the support of the key account.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Senior Leadership and Decision Makers within key accounts, representing Ketjen in engagements and meetings.
  • Prepare and execute account plans using a challenger sales approach.
  • Present, negotiate, and discuss commercial proposals with customers.
  • Track and forecast customer usage rates accurately.
  • Provide market intelligence and industry trend insights for strategic purposes.
  • Meet or exceed annual and quarterly targets (volume/profit) as set by management.
  • Negotiate and secure long-term supply agreements.
  • Provide timely internal reporting using appropriate tools.
  • Document and update all customer interactions in the CRM system.
  • Support the enhancement of Ketjen's technical strength and value propositions in industry perception.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering.
  • Minimum 3+ years in the refining industry, preferably with Hydro processing and/or FCC Unit experience, and at least 3+ years in a sales-related role.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting and explaining commercial and technical offers.
  • Negotiation skills and experience.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence internally and externally.
  • Desire and ability for Challenger Selling.
  • Perseverance, persuasiveness, and confidence.
  • Professionalism, passion, and commitment.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%.
