Job summary

MV Transportation in Princeton, New Jersey, seeks an experienced Assistant General Manager / Safety and Training Manager for the University shuttle program. You will lead safety, training, and compliance efforts across operations, safety, and maintenance while aligning with state and federal regulations and client policies.

The role requires a college degree or 5+ years in safety management, knowledge of FTA/FMCSA/DOT rules, and certification such as CDS or CSP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Transit safety experience.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations (FTA, FMCSA, DOT).
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to supervise multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Set the tone for operator training compliance.
• Keep safety manuals and programs current and aligned with regulations.
• Be the expert on EPA/OSHA and CDL compliance.
• Ensure hires meet background and DMV checks.
• Analyze safety data to reduce incidents and implement preventive plans.
• Liaise with maintenance vendor to schedule PMs and maintain buses.
• Oversee safety incentives and culture across operations, maintenance, and safety teams.
• Manage liability and workers’ comp claims with claims staff.
• Oversee audits by corporate, client, and regulators.
• Lead safety training in classroom and behind-the-wheel settings.
