Job summary

JE Dunn Construction seeks a Safety Specialist within the Advanced Facilities Group. You will coordinate field safety programs for construction projects, lead site inspections, and conduct safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

You will oversee new hire orientation, drug/alcohol policy enforcement, and monitor subcontractors’ safety plans while supporting field leadership in safety program execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in safety/health field.
• 0-2 years construction or related experience required.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local safety regs and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conducts walk-through inspections to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Performs safety audits and recommends abatement for hazards.
• Conducts new hire orientation and oversees drug/alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitors subcontractors’ safety programs and field leadership support.
• Attends pre-planning and progress meetings to discuss safety matters.
• Investigates accidents and recommends process changes to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinates with clinics and workers for timely treatment and return-to-work.
• Monitors site safety incentive program.
