Job summary

JE Dunn Construction’s Advanced Facilities Group seeks a Safety Specialist to coordinate field safety programs on core construction projects. You will conduct site inspections, audits, and new-hire orientations while ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities include monitoring subcontractors' safety programs, supporting project safety committees, and investigating incidents to drive corrective actions and safer work practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• 0–2 years construction or related experience required.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local safety regulations; ability to enforce them.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conducts site safety inspections to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Performs safety audits and documents findings and abatement actions.
• Conducts new hire orientation and drug/alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitors subcontractors’ safety programs and supports project safety meetings.
• Participates in project planning discussions on safety matters.
• Assists in investigating accidents and recommends process improvements.
• Coordinates with injured employees and clinics for timely return-to-work.
