Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist for the Advanced Facilities Group to coordinate field safety and conduct audits on major projects. You will lead orientation, monitor subcontractor safety, and participate in safety meetings across advanced facilities programs.

The role requires 0–2 years of construction safety experience, a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and strong knowledge of safety regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in safety/health-related field preferred or equivalent experience.
0-2 years construction or related experience required.
Familiarity with federal, state and local safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
Conducts safety audits on assigned projects and documents abatement actions.
Oversees new hire orientation and drug/alcohol policy compliance.
Monitors prime/subcontractors’ safety programs and adherence to standards.
Attends project-related meetings to discuss safety matters.
Supports field leadership in safety program implementation and chairs the project safety committee.
Assists in investigating construction-related accidents and determines corrective actions.
Coordinates with injured workers and clinics to ensure timely treatment and return-to-work.
Monitors site safety incentive program.
