Job summary

The City of Cleveland, Ohio is seeking an Employee Safety Leave & Claims Specialist to assist in coordinating departmental safety programs, OSHA compliance, BWC reporting, and FMLA processing. You will support program timelines, prepare reports, and maintain related records.

You will coordinate meetings, trainings, and communications with departmental personnel to ensure objectives are met, track deadlines, and contribute to safer, compliant operations citywide.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred in business/public admin or social sciences.
• 1 year of full-time paid experience in government or private industry.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds and possess a valid Ohio driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the coordination and implementation of departmental safety programs, projects, and initiatives.
• Assist with OSHA compliance, Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) reporting, Drug testing program, and FMLA processing.
• Maintain related records, reports, and documentation.
• Assist with coordinating meetings, training, and departmental communications.
• Prepare reports, monitor assigned projects, and track deadlines.
• Coordinate with departmental personnel to support program objectives and operational needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
