Job summary

Southland Industries in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Safety Specialist to support a safe work environment through inspections, incident documentation and coordination of safety programs and training.

Responsibilities include conducting site tours for OSHA compliance, maintaining safety records, responding to incidents, and mentoring junior safety staff while assisting with training materials and programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences or related field.
• 1+ years of relevant experience in safety.
• CPR and First Aid; OSHA 500/CHST/ASP preferred.
• OSHA 10hr/30hr/40hr training preferred.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA standards and safety management systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication; problem solving; customer service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and OSHA information access online.

Responsibilities

• Inspect smaller, less-complex job sites to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Document safety inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation: accident reports, inspection logs, training records.
• Provide emergency response and document investigations for regulators.
• Mentor less-experienced safety staff and assist with training materials.
• Coordinate and facilitate employee safety training.
