Job summary

UFP Industries seeks a Safety Coordinator II to lead and supervise the facility's safety programs and initiatives. You will inspect operations, oversee training, manage safety records, and coordinate OSHA compliance with management and HR.

The role requires 2–4 years in safety or woodworking, OSHA 10 certification, and First Aid/ CPR credentials. Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook is expected, and forklift training certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• 2–4 years of experience in safety or woodworking operations.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• OSHA 10 certification; First Aid and CPR certification.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe practices and proper PPE use and that guards are in place.
• Investigates accidents and near-misses, identifies trends, and ensures corrective actions are implemented.
• Collaborates with management to develop safety programs and incentives.
• Conducts new hire safety training and ensures understanding of safety practices.
• Provides training on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee and coordinates related activities.
• Manages inventory of safety-related products (PPE, first-aid supplies, videos, etc.).
• Maintains adequate numbers trained in first aid and CPR and safety supply inventories.
• Conducts and certifies forklift training.
• Coordinates annual fire inspection tours and inspections by regulatory agencies.
• Monitors hearing conservation program within the facility.
• Coordinates duties for employees on medical restrictions.
• Maintains communication with management, HR, and third-party claims administrators.
• Maintains OSHA 300 log and other required reports.
• Prepares regular and special safety reports.
• Performs other duties as required
