Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to oversee and coordinate the facility's safety programs and initiatives. The role ensures safe practices, proper PPE usage, and that all guards are maintained.

The position involves conducting safety training for new hires, leading the Safety Committee, and maintaining OSHA logs and safety reports, while coordinating inspections and regulatory tours. The candidate should have a high school diploma and up to two years of safety experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• Zero to two years of experience in safety or woodworking operations.
• Preferred experience in First Aid and CPR and working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Bi-Lingual Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe job practices are followed and guards are in place.
• Investigates accidents and near-misses to identify trends and ensure corrective actions.
• Develops safety programs and incentives with management.
• Conducts new hire safety training and ensures understanding of safety policies.
• Provides training on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee.
• Maintains OSHA 300 log and safety reports.
• Coordinates forklift training and safety inspections.
• Monitors hearing conservation program and medical restrictions.</br>Performing other duties as required.
