Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety performance and development across business units. You will supervise direct reports, assess training needs, and drive a strong safety culture through inspections, audits, and targeted training.

Responsibilities include coordinating with project teams, evaluating subcontractor safety, and leading investigations. A degree in safety, relevant certifications, and extensive construction safety experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred.
• CHST, CSP or equivalent professional safety designation.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• OSHA 30 Hour for construction; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Degree and five years of experience or eight or more years of construction safety experience.
• Knowledge of high hazard areas (cranes, fall protection, scaffold, excavation, electrical).

Responsibilities

• Manage direct report workloads based on project volume and staffing needs.
• Conduct regular check-ins and yearly performance evaluations.
• Assess training and learning needs for direct reports.
• Lead safety inspections and analyze incident data for trends.
• Develop and deliver safety toolbox talks and project orientations.
• Lead crisis or accident investigations independently.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations across projects and subcontractors.
