Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. seeks a Safety Manager to lead safety performance across business units and projects, shaping the corporate safety program and culture.

The role includes directing workloads, inspections, training, and mentoring safety staff to achieve compliance and continuous improvement. The candidate will analyze hazard data, coordinate risk management activities, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and client safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred.
• CHST, CSP or equivalent professional safety designation.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• OSHA 30 Hour for construction; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Degree and five years of experience or eight+ years of construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct report workloads and staffing based on project volume and needs.
• Conduct regular check-ins and yearly performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Assess training and learning needs for direct reports and safety staff.
• Train and support Safety Department members as needed.
• Review career path goals with team members and provide feedback.
• Participate in retention and recruiting of Safety Department staff.
• Lead safety inspections and analyze hazard and incident data to identify trends.
• Develop and deliver safety toolbox talks and project orientations.
