Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking an Assistant Safety Manager to lead on-site safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance across projects. The role involves inspections, safety plan development, and coordination with site teams.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years’ safety experience, OSHA 30, and a four-year degree in construction/engineering/business (or equivalent). Salary ranges with comprehensive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years safety experience.
• Four-year degree in construction, engineering or business preferred.
• In lieu of a degree, additional work experience acceptable.
• Current First Aid AED/CPR certification a plus.
• 2–5+ years' experience with a general contractor.
• OSHA 30 certificate required.
• CSP/ASP/CHST or other safety designation preferred.
• Ability to write professional reports and technical procedures.
• Proficient documentation, record-keeping and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; able to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Conducts on-site safety inspections and uses the H&S application system.
• Evaluates project compliance with safety regulations.
• Evaluates safety performance of subcontractors.
• Reviews project safety inspections with Site Operations.
• Distributes safety inspections to project team members and subcontractors.
• Tracks open safety issues to closure.
• Researches OSHA regulations for project needs.
• Participates in accident/incident investigations.
• Delivers safety toolbox meetings.
• Assists with on-site health safety training.
• Reviews Job Hazard Analysis and site safety plans.
• Supports development of project H&S orientations and safety stand downs.
