Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety performance and development across multiple business units. You will serve as a safety resource at project, unit, and corporate levels, shaping the corporate safety program and culture.

The role requires managing direct reports, mentoring safety staff, and coordinating with site operations to ensure regulatory compliance and robust safety practices across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field required.
• CHST, CSP or equivalent professional safety designation preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• OSHA 30 Hour for construction; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Degree and five years of experience or eight or more years of construction safety experience. Other professional experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct report workloads based on project volume and staffing needs.
• Conduct regular check-ins and annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Assess training and learning needs for direct reports.
• Lead safety inspections and investigations independently.
• Develop and implement department safety policies and programs.
• Lead crisis or accident/incident response and investigation independently.
• Mentor Operations/Site Operations in safety inspection process.
• Evaluate project safety compliance with regulations and client requirements.
• Create and deliver safety toolbox talks and project safety orientations.
