Job summary

ESCO Group is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead daily safety support, training, inspections, audits and compliance across assigned units. The role requires coordinating safety initiatives, maintaining records, and ensuring OSHA compliance.

Travel up to 10% and extended hours may be required; offices located in Mount Pleasant or Ottumwa, IA. The candidate should have a safety or related degree and relevant experience with OSHA credentials; strong communication and organizational skills are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in safety/health or related field.
• 2-year degree with electrical background and 3+ years construction experience.
• OSHA 30/OSHA 500 or related background required or considered.
• Willingness to travel one month per year and on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Manages and implements the ESCO Group safety program throughout the company.
• Schedules and provides necessary safety training for all new employees.
• Coordinates safety training for existing employees.
• Maintains job site inspections and safety meetings.
• Maintains chemical inventory records for Hazardous Communication Program.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and ESCO policies.
