Job summary

ESCO Group is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead day-to-day safety support, training, inspections, audits, and compliance across assigned business units in Mount Pleasant or Ottumwa, IA. The role requires coordinating safety training, performing inspections, and maintaining records while ensuring adherence to OSHA standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety/Health or related field preferred.
• 2-year degree with electrical experience/background and 3+ years of construction experience
• 1-2 years of electrical experience/background with related construction experience
• OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 or related background
• In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered

Responsibilities

• Manages and implements the ESCO Group safety program throughout the company.
• Schedules and provide necessary safety training for all new employees.
• Coordinates, collaborates, and schedules necessary safety training for all existing employees.
• Show leadership skills and quality in the role of Safety Manager.
• Hel ps maintain and coordinate job site inspections.
• Audit, verify and possibly conduct weekly safety meetings.
• Monitor and help coordinate proper test intervals for various equipment.
• Maintains the chemical inventory records for the Hazardous Communication Program.
• Accurately and confidentially maintains ESCO Group records and other sensitive employee data.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Follows all guidelines, polices, and procedures established by ESCO Group.
• Complete annual continuing educations courses as required.
• Utilize, support, and enhance ESCO Group’s standards and best practices.
