Job summary

Mortenson seeks a Safety Manager I to oversee the Zero Injury Safety program across large civil projects. You will lead teams, develop electrical safety programs, and train staff while traveling to Midwest project sites. A strong safety background and ability to coordinate across multiple teams are essential.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in safety or equivalent, 6+ years in construction safety, and strong communication skills. CSP preferred; travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• Alternative: High school diploma with CHST, OSHA 500 and 10+ years leading safety crews.
• CSP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and leadership across multiple project sites.
• Lead teams in developing site-specific electrical safety programs.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation and training.
• Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction meetings.
• Mentor Safety staff and oversee incident analysis and OSHA reporting.
• Conduct work area safety audits and monitor subcontractor activities.
