The Axel Group is working with a premier general contractor in the Tarrant County area that is looking to add a Safety Manager to their award winning team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing company-wide safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role partners with project teams, field staff, and leadership to maintain a strong safety culture, reduce incidents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Lead incident investigations, track safety metrics, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and education programs for employees, subcontractors, and partners.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to implement site-specific safety plans.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and prepare required reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and manage compliance inspections.
- Promote a culture of safety through communication, recognition, and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
- 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in commercial or industrial sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Professional certifications (CHST, CSP, OSHA 500/510) strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence and engage teams at all levels of the organization.
