Job summary

The Parking Spot, the leading near-airport parking provider in the U.S., is hiring a Safety Manager in Chicago. You will lead safety program design, data-driven investigations, and compliance initiatives to foster a strong safety culture across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, safety engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety, EHS or a closely related field.
  • Experience administering an EHS software system preferred (Origami Risk, Velocity EHS).
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and applicable regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with KPI reporting and data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement safety programs to reduce accidents and claims.
  • Lead continuous improvement of the EHS system across the company.
  • Analyze accident/injury/incident reports and conduct investigations.
  • Investigate injury claims and track safety KPIs.
  • Create and enforce internal/external safety audit programs.
  • Advise Field leadership on safety best practices and compliance.
  • Prepare records and reports for OSHA and regulators.

The Safety Manager at The Parking Spot will spearhead the development and implementation of policies and systems that improve safety performance and foster a strong culture of safety. This role oversees all aspects of employee, customer, and visitor safety, including workers' compensation administration. Key responsibilities include data analysis and planning, developing safety programs, monitoring and evaluating safety claims, conducting safety training and coaching, and auditing programs for continuous improvement and to enhance safety awareness and compliance.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement safety programs and procedures to reduce accidents and claims for the CompanyLead the continuous improvement of Origami, our new Company-wide EHS software systemAnalyze all accident/injury/incident reporting and help perform investigations to identify cause and possible preventive measures for future work of a similar natureInvestigate injury claimsDevelop and track safety-related KPIs to identify trends, drive accountability and promote a culture of safetyCreate and enforce internal and external safety audit programs, including conducting safety audits at TPS propertiesAdvise and support Field leadership, management and staff on safety best practicesMaintain the Company’s safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulationsHandle all OSHA related issues such as inspections, yearly reports, job site posters, citations, hearings, etc. Compile safety KPI tracking for management. Produce other safety reports as neededMake corrective action recommendations to upper management concerning safety and health issues that may affect the CompanyProvide support to our comprehensive casualty claims programs including general liability, auto, property, and workers' compensation—by directing investigations, establishing liability, assessing financial exposure, and leveraging claims data to optimize employer modification rates.Prepare, maintain and submit all records and reports required by the Company, OSHA and any other regulatory agencies, i.e. OSHA 300 log and injury recordsPlan, monitor and control safety-related expenditures with the approved budgetKnowledge, Skills & Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree in safety management, safety engineering, or related discipline5+ years of experience in safety, EHS or a closely related fieldPrior experience administering an EHS software system (Origami Risk, Velocity EHS, etc.) preferred, but not requiredStrong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and applicable federal and state regulationsCertified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferredStrong analytical skills, including experience developing reports, tracking KPIs, and using data to drive decisionsDemonstrated ability to influence leaders, support change, and promote best practices across teamsKeep up to date on regulatory and technological developments, industry trends, and creative solutionsExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong Excel skills or any similar software for KPI reportingHighly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesMust be willing to travel as required by situational circumstances______Any disclosed pay range is based on a consideration of neutral factors and criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications, seniority, etc. The Parking Spot reserves the right to offer the selected candidate or applicant a salary at an appropriate level to be set and determined by the employer that is commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications, or seniority.At The Parking Spot, we don’t just accept difference - we celebrate and seek it.
