Job summary

City of Cleveland is seeking an Employee Safety Leave & Claims Specialist to support safety programs, leave administration, and compliance activities. The role includes coordinating with management, preparing reports, and maintaining records for timely processing.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, government or private industry experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 and handle FMLA processing as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business/Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related field.
• One year of full-time paid experience in government or private industry.
• Substitution: fellowship/apprentice or certification programs acceptable.
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.
• Must have valid Ohio driver’s license or state ID.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination and implementation of departmental safety programs, projects, and initiatives.
• Assist with OSHA compliance, BWC reporting, drug testing program, and FMLA processing.
• Maintain related records, reports, and documentation.
• Assist with coordinating meetings, training, and departmental communications.
• Prepare reports, monitor assigned projects, and track deadlines.
• Coordinate with departmental personnel to support program objectives and operational needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
