Job summary

Kiewit in California is seeking a Safety Intern to gain hands-on experience while supporting our safety program across projects in North America. You will learn the skills, regulations, and guidelines we rely on to keep people safe every day on site.

You will assist in developing site safety plans, monitor projects for compliance with federal OSHA and company policies, and work with teams from craft to leadership. Travel and relocation to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current OSHA requirements.
• Working knowledge of computers with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and monitoring the Project Safety Program and site safety policies.
• Support monitoring of construction activities for compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in safety audits and trainings.
• Travel and relocate to project sites as required.
