Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college or university degree program in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of completed education or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
• Desire to learn construction management and construction industry basics.
• Strong verbal and written communication, with ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing safety programs on construction sites and offices under supervision.
• Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices, focusing on imminent danger scenarios.
• Coordinate safety duties for safety committees, preplanning meetings, and toolbox talks.
• Assist with safety training, meetings, and orientations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with policies.
• Promote safe work practices and regulatory compliance on site.
• Assist with drug screening administration per company and client requirements.
• Document meetings and inspections; prepare inspection summaries.
• Maintain safety records (e.g., JHAs, OSHA logs, training records).
• Support worker orientation and administrative tasks; perform other duties as assigned.
