Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks a Safety Intern to assist with safety and loss control on construction projects and office locations. You will support implementing Building L.I.F.E.

and safety programs under supervision, help identify unsafe practices, and coordinate safety duties for committees and toolbox talks. The role emphasizes training support, safety record maintenance, and cooperation with site teams while you pursue a degree in a related field and gain exposure to the construction

Qualifications

• Enrolled and actively pursuing college/university degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field, with at least 1 year completed.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the industry.
• Flexible to work standard business hours and overtime as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing safety programs on construction sites and offices.
• Identify and report safety violations and near-misses.
• Coordinate safety duties for committees and toolbox talks.
• Support training at safety meetings and orientations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with policies.
• Maintain safety records and incident investigations.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and site inspections.
