Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor in Des Moines to lead shift production with a strong focus on safety, quality, service, waste reduction, and culture. You will guide the team, manage materials, and ensure compliance with policies and customer requirements.

You will drive daily production, schedule optimization, and data-driven decisions using the SAP system and dashboards, while fostering a high-performance, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years' experience in operations, production supervision, quality, maintenance or related experience preferred OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling 5 or more years.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer proficiency required (MS Office Suite experience preferred), SAP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities. Works with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain safety policies and programs.
• Monitor colleague practices to ensure compliance with safety and quality policies.
• Investigate and recommend improvements related to near miss, property damage, or employee injury incidents.
• Support plant safety programs by participating in daily audits, GEMBAs, incident investigations and continuous improvement programs.
• Monitor products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Oversee daily production to ensure production goals are achieved.
• Manage employee timecards and time-off requests to ensure accurate payroll and coverage.
• Champion continuous improvement projects and ensure gains are sustained.
• Manage daily production schedules and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Evaluate equipment and material problems and coordinate with Maintenance/Process Engineering to resolve them.
• Investigate and report when production standards are not met.
• Analyze production information using the production dashboard and SAP.
• Foster a High Performance Culture and promote teamwork in each group.
• Supervise production employees and manage employee relations opportunities.
• Monitor interactions to ensure alignment with Amcor's Values.
• Create open two-way dialogue and motivate workers to achieve goals.
• Evaluate employee performance and conduct reviews to support growth.
• Enforce company disciplinary processes consistently.
• Ensure employee training is current and retained.
