Job summary
Amentum in Houston is seeking a Safety, Health, and Environmental Professional to provide technical expertise, program support, and safety oversight for maintenance, construction, and plant operations. You will lead a small team of inspectors, conduct field inspections, and drive safety improvements across projects.
The role requires an environmental health or safety degree, experience leading safety programs, and relevant certifications.
Qualifications
- Degree in environmental health or safety or related field preferred.
- Experience supporting, leading, or developing safety programs.
- Safety related certifications (e.g. CSP, ASP) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support the contract’s safety program.
- Lead a small team of safety inspectors including inspectors who work overnight shift.
- Investigate safety and environmental incidents, determine root causes, and determine corrective actions.
- Perform field inspections of maintenance, construction, and plant operations as well as support facilities. Identify and correct any safety or environmental risks.
- Lead safety meetings and safety training sessions.
- Develop and complete projects that improve safety, health, and environmental stewardship of employees
- Maintain high quality of work.
