Job summary

Amentum seeks a Safety, Health, and Environmental Professional in Houston to provide technical expertise, program support, and safety oversight for maintenance, construction, and plant operations. You will support the safety program and lead inspections across shift operations.

The role requires a degree in environmental health or safety, plus experience in safety programs and relevant certifications. Travel and after-hours work may be involved; a valid driver’s license is needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the contract’s safety program.

• Perform field inspections of maintenance, construction, and plant operations as well as support facilities.
• Identify and correct any safety or environmental risks.
• Lead safety meetings and safety training sessions.
• Develop and complete projects that improve safety, health, and environmental stewardship of employees.
• Maintain high quality of work.

Purpose of the position

The employee in this position is seated within the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Department. They provide technical expertise, program support, and safety/environmental oversight for maintenance, construction, and plant operations.

Requirements

• Some after hours, overnight, and weekend work is required. No travel. Must be able to obtain required NASA badge. Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
• Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.
• Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs to access work areas
• Must be able to work in outdoor areas including in Houston’s summer heat.

Compensation Details

$95,000. The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
