Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Safety Specialist to join our team in Springdale, OH. This role emphasizes EH&S leadership, developing and implementing Job Hazard Analyses, safety procedures, and training to safeguard employees.

Under supervision, you will monitor compliance with EH&S standards and federal/state regulations, provide guidance to a team of EH&S professionals, and collaborate with client/site personnel to address hazards. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an occupational safety role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience using software to enter and interpret safety-related data.
• Experience delivering training to multiple levels of personnel.
• Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must be willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, and administers training programs and other safety procedures and Job Hazard Analysis.
• Conducts comprehensive safety audits and inspections and recommends actions for hazard correction for OSHA compliance.
• Investigates injuries, conditions, and incidents to document findings for trend awareness and accountability.
• Maintains adequate records of pertinent data and compiles required reports on job occupational injury and illness experience.
• Plans and coordinates safety and health classes for technical and supervisory employees.
• Drives employee engagement in the safety program and collaborates with client/site EHS personnel.
