Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Engineer II to implement the Zero Injury Safety program at project sites and maintain a safe environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors. You will lead safety initiatives, conduct orientations, and manage incident analysis across sites.

Ideal candidates have a construction safety background, strong communication and leadership skills, and willingness to travel up to 100% with proactive problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or related field required.
• Professional certifications such as STS/CHST and OSHA 30 Hour preferred.
• Experience in safety management in construction settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite for team members.
• Assist project management in developing site-specific safety programs.
• Attend and conduct safety orientations and trainings at project level.
• Document and track safety violations and unsafe conditions.
• Conduct safety audits and analyze injury, hazard statistics.
• Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or related field
