Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Safety Engineer II to implement the Zero Injury Safety program at project sites and ensure a safe work environment for staff, subcontractors, and visitors. You will lead safety initiatives across multiple worksites and coordinate with project teams to uphold Mortenson's safety standards.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to conduct training, and travel up to 100%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or related field.
• HS diploma with STS/CHST certification, OSHA 30 Hour Training and 7+ years of construction safety experience.
• Experience managing safety programs at crew or project level.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite for team members.
• Assist project management in developing site-specific safety programs and activities.
• Conduct safety orientation and training programs at the project level.
• Document and track safety violations and unsafe conditions.
• Conduct safety audits and analyze leading/trailing indicators.
• Coordinate OSHA reporting and postings.
