Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Engineer II to implement our Zero Injury Safety program on a project site and to ensure a safe environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors. The role requires proactive safety leadership and the ability to communicate policies across levels.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field or substantial alternate credentials with extensive construction safety experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent safety/occupational health background.
• At least seven years of construction safety experience with crew/project level safety leadership.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety-related software.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite for team members.
• Assist project management in developing site-specific safety programs.
• Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training at the project level.
• Document and track all safety violations and unsafe conditions.
• Conduct work area safety audits and data analyses.
• Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements.
