Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Engineer II to implement the Zero Injury Safety program at construction sites, coordinating with staff at all levels to maintain a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors.

The role involves developing site-specific safety programs, conducting orientations, documenting violations, and leading safety analysis. Travel up to 100% and a base pay range of $81,800-$110,400 are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or related field.
• OR High school diploma with STS/CHST certification, OSHA 30 Hour Training, and at least seven years of construction safety leadership experience.
• Minimum of one year of related experience.
• Detail-oriented with ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety software programs.
• Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate company policies to team members and outside parties.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Public speaking and presentation skills.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite for team members
• Assist project management team in developing and executing site-specific safety programs
• Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs at the project level
• Document and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.
• Conduct work area safety audits
• Conduct project’s leading and trailing indicator data/document collection and trend analyses
• Conduct or assist with major incident analysis
• Record, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury, and Hazard statistics
• Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements
