Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Safety Engineer to support the safety manager and project teams on construction projects. The role requires applying safety policies, monitoring activities, and correcting unsafe acts or conditions in both field and office environments.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff and partners, maintaining safety plans, and participating in risk analyses, inspections, and OSHA-related activities to ensure project safety compliance.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree is preferred.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with stakeholders including Hensel Phelps staff, craft and trade partners.
• Knowledgeable of the company safety and health program and applicable regulatory standards (e.g., EM 385-1-1).
• Assist the project superintendent in completing and maintaining the accident prevention plan and safety management tools.
• Participate in the six-step quality control/safety process including activity hazard analyses and follow-up inspections.
• Conduct project safety audits and assist with OSHA inspections and incident investigations.
• Monitor safety performance of Hensel Phelps and trade partners.
• Attend awareness and competent person level courses.
