Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Safety Manager to support the senior safety manager and project teams on construction projects. The role involves managing safety and health processes, coordinating with project owners and partners, and ensuring a culture of safety.

This is a safety-sensitive position with responsibility for program development, training, and audits. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a preferred 4-year degree, and 3 years of safety experience in commercial

Qualifications

• High School/GED required or equivalent.
• A 4-year degree is preferred in safety or related field.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested or related certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of safety experience on commercial construction projects.
• CHST certification designation is suggested.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficient in MS Office; Excel templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with stakeholders including project owners, insurers, staff and trade partners.
• Attend owner meetings and coordinate safety with representatives.
• Develop and manage the project's safety program and budget.
• Lead safety trainings and tailgate meetings as needed.
• Conduct safety audits and site inspections to control risk.
• Monitor safety trends and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain project safety documentation and reporting.
