Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Safety Engineer to support the safety manager and project team on construction projects. You will implement safety policies, monitor activities, and correct unsafe acts both in the field and office.

This is a safety-sensitive role within a dynamic projects environment. Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders, maintaining the accident prevention plan, conducting safety audits, and supporting OSHA inspections.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• A 4-year degree preferred.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Strong communication skills.
• MS Office Suite, including Excel-based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with stakeholders including Hensel Phelps staff and trade partners.
• Know the company safety and health program and applicable standards (EM 385-1-1).
• Assist superintendent with accident prevention, safety management and crisis plans.
• Participate in six-step safety QC process, review activity hazard analyses and follow-up inspections.
• Conduct project safety audits and manage project point files.
• Assist with OSHA inspections as needed.
• Assist with investigations, injury management and claim reporting.
• Monitor safety performance of Hensel Phelps and trade partners.
• Attend awareness and competent person level courses.
• Learn construction processes and responsibilities across roles.
